PURPOSE
The Rotary Peace Film Festival “In Search of Peace” aims to raise global awareness of not only direct violence but also structural, cultural and ecological inequalities and injustices at the system level and the discourses that naturalize them.
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
- The festival is open to amateurs and professionals interested in short films in the genres of "fiction" and "documentary".
- Student films will be evaluated in a separate category. Students who will participate in the competition must submit their student documents along with the application form.
- The short films and documentaries that will participate in the festival should be in accordance with the "peace" theme.
- Short films and documentaries completed after January 1, 2020 can participate in the festival.
- Films no longer than 15 minutes can participate in the festival.
- Short films and documentaries that have competed or won an award in a national or international competition can participate in this festival.
- If the work is in a language other than English, English subtitles should be placed.
- All devices, including smart phones, can be used for shooting.
- All copyright issues arising from the use of non- original texts, images, music, etc. in short films and documentaries are the responsibility of the producer. The legal responsibility arising in this context belongs to the owner of the production.
- The films that pass the pre-selection will be announced on the official web page of the Rotary Peace Film Festival and its social media pages.
- Films that pass the pre-selection will be screened for educational events organized by the Rotary Club of Peace, Istanbul, Turkey.
- Donations from the movie screenings will be used for peace projects to be carried out by the Rotary Club of Peace, Istanbul, Turkey.
- Applications must include signed participation specification, application form, 3 film stills (do not include behind-the-scenes photos); Turkish and English synopses of the film not exceeding 500 characters, Turkish and English biographies and filmographies of the director not exceeding 500 characters, and a student certificate, if any.
